George Lamar Waldrop

Funeral services for George Lamar Waldrop, 84, of Thomaston, GA, were held November 17 in Thomaston.
He died November 15.
Mr. Waldrop was born in Jasper County where he lived until after his discharge from the Army in the early 1940s.
He taught Sunday School, was a lay minister, fought in World War II, and owned a Thomaston furniture store before his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Fowler Waldrop; two sons, Army Major retired Lucius Waldrop of Hinesville and Georgia State Patrol Sgt. John S. Waldrop of Culloden; grandchildren Melissa Waldrop of McDonough, Ashley and Amanda Waldrop of Culloden, and Mike Waldrop of Colorado; two sisters Martha McAlister of Warner Robins and Mary Jones of Griffin; and a brother Oscar Waldrop of Griffin.
