Charles A. Heirs, Jr.

Funeral services for Charles A. Hiers, Jr., 80, were held Monday at New Hope Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Gerald Hollis and Terry Joyner officiated.
He died December 6 at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta.
Mr. Hiers was a native of Lake Park and served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He retired after many years as an instructor at Albany Technical College. He moved from Lake Seminole to Lincolnton 12 years ago and was an active member of Spring Creek Baptist Church.
His son, Charles A. Hiers, III, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cox Hiers; daughter, Patricia H. Partridge of Lincolnton; two sisters, Lena Maude Harrell of Valdosta, Anna Grace Tucker of Monticello; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
