Piedmont Holds Football Banquet
Piedmont Academy honored its 2003 varsity football players, cheerleaders and coaches Monday night.
Senior Jeremy Reese was named the team’s Most Valuable Player in addition to his All-Region and All-State status.
Taylor Marsh received the Student Athlete award for highest academic average. Brittany Binowski won the Student Athlete award for the varsity cheerleading team.

Offensive coordinator Keith Mason presented Marsh and Daniel Beckham with awards for Best Offensive Backs while Frank Christian was named Best Offensive Lineman. All three players were named to the All-Region team.
Defensive coordinator Joel Sauls presented Keith Pulliam and Josh Daniel with Best Defensive Back Awards while Neil Gilbert was honored as Best Defensive Lineman. Pulliam also earned All-Region honors for 2003.
Trey McHugh, Chris Brunton, Samantha McDaniel and Lauren Leggett were presented with letterman jackets for being in the varsity program two years.
All members of the football team and cheerleading squads received letters or bars.
Cheryl McHugh also recognized Ivey Nelson (first place), Trey McHugh (second place) and Zac Hauther (third place) for selling the most football program ads.
Piedmont Academy head football coach Charlie Lane was also recognized for his efforts in leading the Cougars to the state playoffs this fall.
