Edna Benefield Bell
Edna Benefield Bell, 74, of Monticello, died Tuesday, January 6, at her residence.
Mrs. Bell was a native of Fulton County. She lived in Lithonia until moving to Monticello 10 years ago. Her parents were the late Lucius Elijah Benefield and Inez Stabler Benefield Sanford. She attended Avondale Church of Christ.
Before retirement she was an administrative assistant for the CT Corp. System in Atlanta for more than 27 years.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, James Oliver Bell, Jr. of Monticello; children, James F. and Kay Bell of Norcross, Derrel O. and Kathy Bell of Conyers, Wayne G. Bell of Lithonia, and Cynthia E. Bell of Suwanee; grandchildren, Kristy Bell, Travis Bell, Bridgette N. Bell, and Matthew T. Bell; brother and sisters, Garland Benefield, Patricia Wright and Lynda Hubbard, all of Covington.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home, with burial at 2 p.m. at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker. Dr. Hoyt P. Oliver officiating.
The family suggests memorials to the Georgia Chapter, Alzheimer’s Association, 1925 Century Blvd., NE, Suite 10, Atlanta, GA 30345-3315 in lieu of flowers.
