Lena Barr Gantt

Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Barr Gantt, 84, are scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 16 at Griggs Chapel A.M.E. Church beginning at 1 p.m. with burial in the Church Cemetery.

She died December 12.

Mrs. Gantt was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church participating on the Mother Board, in the choir, Missionary Society, as church secretary and a member of the Bright and Morning Star Lodge.

She was educated in the Jasper County School System and was employed with the Jasper County Board of Education as a cafeteria employee.

Survivors include daughters, Johnnie Goolsby, Helen Reddish, both of Monticello, Patricia Roberts of Austell, Rachel Thompkins of Eatonton; son, Paul Gantt of Niceville, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Doris Rivers and Dorothy Mae Bailey; two sisters, Alice Persons and Grace Carter Johnson.
