Carrie Carter Freeman
Funeral services for Carrie Carter Minter Freeman, 102, were held March 19 at the Word of Truth Christian Center in Decatur with burial in the Melvin and Genoulia Lee Family Cemetery in Conyers.
She died March 13 at Portsbridge Hospice-Conyers.
Mrs. Freeman had been featured in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. She prided herself on never having worn pants in all of her 102 years. During her lifetime she utilized services that were not invented prior to her birth including traveling by plane and television. She was also a fan of wrestling.
Two husbands and two children, M.S. Minter and Lila Bryant, all preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Genoulia Lee of Conyers and Mary Johnson of Stone Mountain; 20 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; and a number of relatives including Sandra Carter and Ulysses Carter, both of Monticello.
