JV Cougars Win 14-12
The Piedmont Academy junior varsity football team put the finishing touches on its 2005 season with a 14-12 win against Monroe Academy last week.
“It was a thriller,” said coach Danny Camp. “Monroe had a chance to tie the game late, but we held on. It was a great to end the season on a good note.”
The JV Cougars struggled at times this season, but Camp said throughout the fall the team was improving and continuing to the learn the offensive system which was installed during the offseason.
Last Thursday’s win, which saw Piedmont lead 14-0 at one point, helped avenge a 20-12 setback to Monroe Academy earlier in the season.
