Amos E. Cox
Amos Elton Cox, 85, of Jackson, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta.
Mr. Cox was born in Jasper County. His parents were the late Pryor Walker Cox and Mattie Sue McElheney Cox. He served in the Ninth Air Force Armament in Europe during World War II. Mr. Cox was a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church. He retired as a mechanic from Better Brands, Inc. and farmed.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Thelma P. and John Wise of Jackson; sister, Fay Crawford of Forest Park; two nephews; one niece and three great-nieces.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 28, at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home, with burial in Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church. Rick Humphrey officiated.
Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
