Nathan Fuller Wins Bass Tourney

Nathan Fuller caught the big one! It was a seven-pound, 13-ounce monster bass.

In his third year on the professional bass tour, Mr. Fuller of Hillsboro, registered his first ever first place win in the Stren Series South at West Point Lake held February 15 through February 18. His first prize award was $5,000 cash and a brand new Ranger Bass boat.

Mr. Fuller’s total catch weighed in at nine pounds, six ounces. He attributed his catch to a bream-colored running speed trap lure.

“I’ve won first place quite a few times before in team tournaments, but this was the first big tournament I’ve won, and it was also the most winnings I’ve earned at one time,” Mr. Fuller said.

Even though this win was the highlight of his angling career, he predicts there are more to come. His next tournament is scheduled for the second weekend in March on Lake Sinclair where he’ll go for another $5,000 prize.

And, he says, he has a good used bass boat for sale because he plans to do his future fishing in a brand new one.
