Phyllis Gentes Hotalen

Phyllis Frances Bernice Gentes Hotalen, 63, of Jackson, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens.

Phyllis Hotalen was born in Sullivan County, N.Y. Her parents were the late Felix Antone Gentes, Jr. and Anna Ruth Hoss Gentes. Her husband, Eugene Hotalen, and brothers, Teddy West and Phillip Gentes, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her sons, Daniel Gentes of Jackson and David Prussia of Athens; grandchildren, Rodney Gentes, Jesse Gentes, Heather Jones, Danielle Prussia, Cody Prussia, Hunter Prussia and Jordan Compton; and brothers and sisters, Duane Gentes of Lilburn, William Gentes of New York, Muriel Topel of Milford, Pa., Annette Auld of Florida, Charlotte Jewett of Texas and Paula Seely of Vesta.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 23, at Callie Fuller Baptist Tabernacle in Monticello, with burial in church cemetery. Dr. Grady Fuller officiated.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
