Carole Leigh Wood Wages
Carole Leigh Wood Wages, 58, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, April 1, at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C.
Ms. Wages was a native of Lumpkin County. She moved to Jasper County in 1966. Her parents were the late Elbert Asbury Wood and Missie Mae Tuggle Wood. She was a breakroom hostess for Aramark Vending Service out of Atlanta. Five brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sons, Maylon Wages and Billy Joe Wages of Monticello; friend and partner, Morgan Miller of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Michael Harden, Makayla Wages, Macey Wages, Taylor Wages and Tyler Wages; and brothers and sisters, Leroy Wood of Shady Dale, Ruth Pope of Eatonton, Eugene Wood of Monticello, Sue Shupe of Milledgeville, Darrell Moses of Cumming, and Jane Spooner of Columbia, S.C.
Funeral services were to be held Wednesday, April 5, at 11 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Shady Dale, with burial in the church cemetery. The Revs. Ed Lewallen and Curtis Wood were to officiate.
Pallbearers were to be Clint Voyles, Jeremy Bell, Jeff Williamson, Israel Hedrick, Andy Martin and Tracey Rogers.
Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Jordan Funeral Home, 264 Hillsboro Street, Monticello.
