Several Plea in Court

Jasper County Superior Court Civil Motion Day Calendar convened on Tuesday, April 18 with Judge Hugh V. Wingfield, III, presiding. Five criminal cases were resolved as follows:

•Dwight A. Byron pled guilty to charges of possession of cocaine and driving while license was revoked or suspended, and was sentenced to serve three years on the first charge and 12 months on the second, to run concurrent.

•Edward Isaac McMillan, Sr., pled guilty to possession of methamphetamine, and was sentenced to three years probation, plus fines, as a first offender.

•Laura Michelle McMillan had her charges of possession of methamphetamine nolle prossed (charges dismissed).

•Thomas Jonathan Gaylor’s probation was revoked, and upon payment of fines will be released to serve one year on intensive probation and then return to regular probation with original terms and conditions.

•Charles David Perry’s probation was revoked, and in consideration that the defendant is terminally ill the balance of his probation was reduced to time served and the defendant was released from custody.
