Bank of Monticello Hosts Annual Charity Golf Tournament
The Bank of Monticello hosted its fifteenth annual charitable golf tournament at Turtle Cove on Saturday, April 22.
There were 76 players making up 19 foursomes, many of whom enjoyed refreshments in the Turtle Cove Lounge after the tournament.
According to Don Kelly, the annual tournaments have raised approximately $35,000 for various charities.

On this particular occasion, Steve Jordan, on behalf of the Bank of Monticello presented a check for $2,500 to Emilu Bales, chairman of the Turtle Cove Property Owners Association, for the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Kelly expressed his appreciation to Turtle Cove for the use of its facilities, to the employees of the Bank of Monticello for their assistance, to chairpersons Stan and Lucy Humphreys, and to all the participating golfers.
Generous prizes were awarded to each member of the first eight teams, and also to individual hole winners.
The winning teams were:
•First place at 12 under par–Dan Roberts, Mary Johnson, Tony Tanner, Jack Smith.
•Second place at eight under par—Jimmy Jordan, Linda Lam, Randy Martin, J. R. Cobb.
•Third place at seven under par–Walter Smith, Sandra Walker, Maurice Sears, J. Patterson.
•Fourth place at seven under par–Rick Reese, Donna Owenby, Bennie Connelly, Alice Tillman.
•Fifth place at seven under par–Bob Watts, Gayle Gray, Robert Hays, Jim Cosby.
•Sixth place at six under par–Mike Harris, Donna Owenby, Jeff Bulthouse, Ethan Bulthouse.
•Seventh place at six under par–Stan Humphreys, Beth Taylor, Ted Dunagan, Billy Connelly.
•Eighth place at six under par–Carl Highlan, Mildred Irwin, Fred Meyer, Earl Dehlman.
Hole awards included: Men’s longest drive–Doug Huff; ladies’ longest drive–Alice Tillman; closest to line–Mary Johnson; men’s longest putt–Jeff Bulthouse; closest to the pin no. 4–Doug Huff; closest to pin on no. 6–Jack Patterson; ladies only closest to pin–Sandra Walker; inside circle on no. 9–Mary Johnson on both rounds.
