Wynette Dyess Strength

A graveside service was scheduled yesterday, May 3, at 10 a.m. for Wynette Dyess Strength of Monticello. The service will be held at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery, with Dr. John Brown officiating.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, May 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Vining Ivy Hill Chapel in Eatonton.

Mrs. Strength died Sunday, April 30 at The Retreat Nursing Home in Monticello.

A native of Coffee County, Ala., she was the daughter of Lula Fillingim and Dewey M. Dyess. She was a member of Monticello First United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star in Enterprise, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.K. Strength, and a great-grandson, Caleb Strength.

Survivors include a son, the Rev. Ben Strength of Monticello; a daughter, Beverly Byrd of Coffee County, Ala.; brother, Melvin Dyess of New Hope, Ala.; grandchildren, Clint Rhodes, Cassie Rhodes, Jim Strength, Karl Strength, and great-grandchild, J.K. Strength, III.
