Golfers Complete Season

The Piedmont Academy golf team capped a season of improvement last week at the Region 1-AA tournament in Waynesboro.

Zac Hauther, Josh Mobley, Brandon Landreau, Carter Greeson and Carrie Tucker compete for the Piedmont linksters at Waynesboro Country Club. Overall, Piedmont’s top four scorers combined to break 400, the best mark in region in several years.

Piedmont’s golf team was one of six to compete at the 1-AA tournament along with Edmund Burke, Monroe Academy, Brentwood, Gatewood and Briarwood.
Co-coach Tony Lewis said the team has improved its region score for four consecutive seasons.

“I thought everyone competed well,” Lewis said. “This was a good group to work with. They learned a lot about the game of golf. We are looking forward to next spring as we have all of our players returning.”
