John Welch, Jr.

Funeral services for John Erwin Welch, Jr., 74, of Milledgeville, were held May 31 at Vining Ivy Hill Chapel with burial in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Eatonton. James Johnson, Buddy Warren and Leon McNabb officiated.

He died May 28 at the Georgia War Veteran Home.
Mr. Welch was born July 4, 1931 in Putnam County to the late John E. Welch, Sr. and Eva Newman. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War prior to working as a foreman.

He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and the VFW Post 6686.
His wife, Betty Lee Osborne, preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughters, Lynn Waldron of Cumming and Patricia McGill of Greenwood, In.; sons, Christopher Wayne Welch of Eatonton and John Michael Welch of Monticello; brother, Clayton Welch of Eatonton; sister, Eva Claire Shipp of Macon; three grandsons; and three granddaughters.

Pallbearers were Donald Shipp, Tommy Welch, Matthew Waldron, Patrick McGill, Christian McGill, and Rick Nable.

Vining Ivy Hill Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
