Cheryl Bowden Stephens
Cheryl Jane Bowden Stephens, 61, died Wednesday, June 14, at her residence.
Ms. Stephens was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. Her parents were the late Roy P. Bowden and Mildred Womack Bowden. She was a former member of Talmadge Methodist Church and a member of the Monticello First United Methodist Church.
For the past 19 years, Ms. Stephens worked for the Newton Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse and later as a pharmacy tech in the hospital pharmacy. She was a LPN for Jasper Memorial Hospital for a number of years.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tom Roy and Jennifer Symington of Monticello; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Bill Burnette of Monticello; grandchildren, Chrissy Burnette, Lee Burnette, James Burnette, Jeffrey Burke, Sara Burke and Christopher Osterhout; and sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Paul Bridges of Monticello.
Funeral services were scheduled for Saturday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home, with burial in Talmadge Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. John Brown officiated.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Jordan Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Robby Aiken, Terry McMichael, Cory McMichael, Sidney Womack, Tim Womack, Jeffrey Burke, Shannon Burnette, Heck Davis, and Keith Davis.
Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
