Billy Lackey

Billy Alford Lackey, 59, of Monticello, died Saturday, July 29, at Abbey Hospice in Social Circle.

Mr. Lackey was born in Lumpkin County. His father was the late James Clifford Lackey. He was a heavy equipment operator in the timber business. Two grandchildren, Savanah Merck and Christopher Merck, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his children, Ramond Lackey and Mathew Lackey of Monroe, Michael Lackey of Winder, Clifford Lackey of Monticello and Mandy Merck of Lithonia.

Also, grandchildren, Tayler Lackey, Justin Lackey, Cody Lackey, Heath Lackey, Hunter Lackey, Micah Lackey, McKayla Lackey, Shelby Lackey, Dalton Lackey, Devon Lackey, Rainy Lackey, Jonah Lackey, Haley Merck and Mason Merck; mother, Annie Gaddis Lackey of Monti-cello; and brothers and sisters, James Lackey of Eatonton, Frank Lackey, Betty Gordon and Dean Tatum, all of Monticello, and Susie Turner of Madison.

A graveside service was held Sunday, July 30, at West View Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. John Brown officiated.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
