Karen Thomaston

Karen Yvonne Willis Thomaston, 43, of Monticello, died Friday, September 15, at Rockdale Medical Center in Conyers.

Karen Thomaston was born in Lee County, Virginia. She lived in Jonesboro before moving to Jasper County in 1978. She was a member of Monticello Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, John Mark Thomaston of Monticello; son and daughter, Brett Thomaston and Tori Thomaston, both of Monticello; parents, James, Sr. and Doris Robbins Willis of Goshen, Ohio; brother, James Willis, Jr. of Monticello; and nephew, Jamie Willis of Covington.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at Monticello Baptist Church, with burial in Williams Payne Cemetery, with Dr. Kerry Bunn, officiating.

Pallbearers were to be Cliff Thomaston, Andrew Thomaston, Kris Agustin, David Hicks, Scott Hicks and Gary Hicks.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at Jordan Funeral Home.
