Lee Roy Ellison
Lee Roy Ellison, 66, of Monticello, died Sunday, Oct. 1 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 2 P.M. in the chapel of Jordan Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Turbyfield will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 P.M. on Monday, Oct. 2 at Jordan Funeral Home.
Mr. Ellison was born in Macon County to the late John Claude Ellison, Sr. and Annie Shelton Ellison. Mr. Ellison was a member of Union Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Ellison served in the National Guard and had retired as manager for Ferrell Gas. He also was a former officer with the Monticello Police Department.
His brothers and sisters, J.S. Ellison, Frances
Stafford, Annette Hudson and Bill Ellison, all preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Betty McMichael Ellison of Monticello; children, Vicky Schley of Wilmington, N.C., Michael Ellison of Dacula, Janet Palmer of Pittsburgh, Penn., and Raymond Ellison of Covington; grandchildren, Courtney Ellison, Taylor Ellison, Jordan Ellison, Riley Ellison, Nathan Batchelor, Mason Palmer and Jacelyn Palmer; brother, John Claude Ellison, Jr. of Newberry, Fla.; and sisters, Myrtle Brown of Columbus and Patricia Layfield of Montezuma.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, c/o Ellen Boyd, McIntosh State Bank, P.O. Box 31, Monticello, Ga. 31064.
