Margaret McMichael Jones

Margaret McMichael Jones, 85, of Hillsboro, died Monday, Oct. 9, at her residence.

Margaret Jones was born in Putnam County and was a lifelong resident of Hillsboro. Her parents were the late Hope McMichael andAnnie May Layson McMichael.

She and her late husband, Henry Hubert Jones, owned and operated Jones Grocery until retirement. She was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church.

Her brother, Harold McMichael, and sister, Gladys Sheppard preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Mike Jones of Hillsboro and brother, H.P. McMichael of Eatonton.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Jordan Funeral Home.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at Hillsboro Baptist Church in Hillsboro, with burial in the church cemetery, with the Rev. Stephen Brock officiating.

Pallbearers were to be Wayne Jones, Carlton McMichael, Bubba Yates, Charles Turner, Daryl Brantley and Clay Cadwell.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
