Georgina Mallea

Georgina Antonia Barrios Mallea, 88, of Monticello, died Friday, October 13, at her residence.

Georgina Mallea was born in Havana, Cuba. She moved to the United States in 1942. She lived in Los Angeles, Calif. for a number of years until moving to Jasper County 20 years ago. Her parents were the late George Barrios Murphy and Delores Minerva Recio Barrios.

Before retirement, she worked in Data Processing at a bank. After retirement, she devoted her life to her daughters and grandchildren. A brother, Armando Barrios, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Diana Moreno of Monticello and Maria and Ronald Goldman of La Jolla, Calif.; grandchildren and spouse, Armando and Candi Moreno, Carlos Moreno and Elisa Moreno; great-granddaughter, Taylor Janel Moreno; and sister, Elena Adams of Los Angeles, Calif.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 16, at Shiloh Baptist Church. Burial in Shiloh Baptist Church cemetery. The Rev. Danny Sorrells officiated.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
