Willie Mae Standifer

Funeral services for Willie Mae Standifer were held Wednesday, Jan. 3 at Springfield Baptist Church with burial in Smith-Thomas Cemetery. The Rev. Jimmy Horton officiated.
She died Friday, Dec. 29.

Mrs. Standifer was born December 7, 1937 to the late Howard Williams and Mary Pearl McDowell.
At an early age she attended Sardis C.M.E. Church and later joined Springfield Baptist Church where she served in the Senior Choir and Pastor Support Club. She was also a member of the Busy Bee Social Club.

In 1960 she married Walter Standifer, Jr., who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Standifer retired from the Monticello Manufacturing Company after 27 years of service.
Survivors include three children, JoAnn Tripp, Arthur “Pete” Standifer, and Carla Renee Hardeman, all of Monticello; sisters, Jeanette Ross, Thelma Cook, Gloria Colbert, Juanita Colbert, and Amelia Williams, all of Madison; brothers, Howard Williams, Freddie Williams, Wilson Williams, all of Madison, Lamar Williams of Atlanta, and Charles Williams of Los Angeles, Ca.; seven grandchildren, Akeila and Kelsea Tripp, Deashley and Dais-hawan Crutchfield, Artagus, Petrilia, and Brittany Standifer; one aunt, Sal Minter; care taker, Vickie Bostic; a number of other relatives and friends.

Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
