Aletha Ward Tyler
Aletha Ward Tyler, 82, of Monticello, died Friday, February 9, at Newton Medical Center in Covington.
Aletha Tyler was born in Ashburn to the late Jimmy Lee Ward and Mae Etta Youngblood Ward. She lived in Macon for a number of years before moving to Monticello 60 years ago.
Mrs. Tyler was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Monticello. Before retirement, she worked for the U.S. Warner Robins Air Force Base as a secretary and later as an electronics technician. A brother, Carl Ward, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her husband, A.W. Tyler, Jr. of Monticello; son, Mike W. Tyler of Monticello; daughter and son-in-law, Lynne and Tony Tanner of Monticello; grandchildren and spouses, Lindsay and Keith Moore, Amanda and Eric Crews, Holly Tyler, Micah Tyler, Wade and Brooke Stroud, and Wes Tanner; great-grandchildren, Haiden Crews, Sydney Stroud, and Ridge Stroud; and sisters, Eudora Farmer of Covington, Thurles Dukes and Kay Williford of Ashburn, Nettie Rose Hardy and Jimmie Lou Waller of Sycamore, and Diane Deloach of Eatonton.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 11, at Monticello First United Methodist Church in Monticello. Burial was in West View Cemetery in Monticello. Dr. John Brown, and the Revs. Clyde Carter and Brian Dale officiated.
Pallbearers were Wade Stroud, Wes Tanner, Micah Tyler, Keith Moore, Eric Crews, and Grafton Rabun.

Jordan Funeral Home, of Monticello, was in charge of arrangements.
