Annie Dudley Tanner
Funeral services for Annie Mary Dudley Tanner, 83, were held Saturday, June 30 at the First Christian Church of Sandersville with burial in Brownwood Cemetery. Revs. Dale Andrews and Wayne Niederhuth officiated.
She died Wednesday, June 27.
Mrs. Tanner was born in Washington County to the late Aurthur Douglas Dudley and Emma Doolittle Dudley. She was a former educator for the Washington County Board of Education and a long-time teacher at Brentwood School.
She was an active member of First Christian Church of Sandersville where she was a former choir member, teacher of the Willing Workers Sunday School Class, member of the Christian Women’s Fellowship, and former organist.
Mrs. Tanner was a graduate of Sandersville High School and Georgia State College for Women. She was a member of the Jared Irwin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a former member of the Sandersville Garden Club.
Survivors include her husband, Valda Davis Tanner, Jr, of Sandersville; sons, Valda D. Tanner, III of Sandersville, Tony Tanner of Monticello, and Jody Tanner of Bogart; grandchildren, David Tanner, Brad May, Wade Stroud, Wes Tanner, Clay Tanner, Tori Tanner, and Ivey Tanner; great-grandchildren, Sydney Stroud and Ridge Stroud; and nephews, Walden Dudley and Bobby Dudley.
