Jimmie Roger Brannon

Funeral services for Jimmie Roger Brannon, 61, were held Wednesday, August 22 at Griggs Chapel A.M.E. Church with burial in Campbell Cemetery. Rev. Robert R. Slaughter officiated.

He died Friday, August 17.

Mr. Brannon was born February 14, 1946 to the late Charlie Brannon of Eatonton and the late Lillie Bell Brannon of Monticello.

He joined Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at an early age and retired after many years of logging.

Mr. Brannon married Emma Jackson on September 28, 1969 and had three children.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Goolsby and Lillie Bland, and two brothers, Freddie Brannon and Charlie Frank Brannon.

Survivors include his wife, Emma Brannon; daughter, Jenell Brannon; sons, Bernard and Kedric Brannon, all of Monticello, and Norman Gotel of Atlanta; seven grandchildren, Delvin, Jeremiah, Damian, Ashton, Autumn, Shaylise, and Solomon Brannon; brothers, Ernest Brannon of Rome; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; four devoted friends; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Smith & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
