Drug Arrests Are Made

For the second week in a row deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office have made drug arrests inside the city of Monticello.

Last Friday evening, August 17, investigators with the JCSO executed a search warrant on Webb Street. The search warrant came after an ongoing investigation into the location, which resulted in several arrests for drug charges and other offenses, according to the annouoncement from the sheriff’s office.

Arrested at the location were Lonnie Beasley, Emily Beasley, Clifford Lynch, Lee Hyman, Jr., Summer Carrey, Tiffany Mattison, Russell Vowell, and Jacob Holland, all of Monticello. Marijuana, Xanax, drug related items, and glass smoking devices were found inside the residence. All of the above individuals have been released on bond.

Also, on the same date, a traffic stop was made by a deputy with the JCSO on a white Jeep Grand Cherokee at Liberty Church Road and Wild Road. The traffic stop resulted in the arrest of Deborah Celeste Livers of Monticello. Ms. Livers was charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Approximately four ounces of marijuana were found in Ms. Livers’ vehicle in the rear seat area. Because of the amount of marijuana found in the vehicle it is subject to forfeiture under state law, the sheriff’s office announcement said.

Ms. Livers has been released on a $25,000 bond.

Chad Edward Morris, Monticello—Jasper County Superior Court Bench Warrant.

Paula Danielle Carder, Monticello—simple battery.

Joseph Wayne Little, Jr., Monticello—disorderly conduct.

Ellis Evans Cooley, Mansfield—hold for warrant in Gwinnett County.


Robert Lee Ray,Loganville–hold for warrant in Haralson County.

Christopher Lance Fowler, Shady Dale—driving while unlicensed.

Lashondra Monique Freeland, Stone Mountain—speeding, driving while licence suspended or revoked.

Donnie Alan Simpson, Mansfield—aggravated assault.

James Robert Lackey, Shady Dale—driving while license suspended or revoked.

Billy Wayne Johnson, Loganville—DUI, failure to maintain lane, driving while license suspended or revoked.

Daniel Jordan Cheney, Griffin—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

Casey Dewayne Lackey, Stockbridge—probation violation.
In addition, during this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 166 calls for service including 35 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, six alarm, four each accidents and livestock in road, three each burglary and vandalism of property, two each fight and dog disturbance, and one each fall, shooting, illegal dumping/littering and stalking.

During this period the Monticello Police Department arrested Markese Deon Thurman of Monticello and charged him with aggravated assault. Also, officers with the MPD responded to 93 calls for service including 16 escort or convoy, 12 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, four each juvenile complaint and alarm, two each prowler report, and person refusing to leave, and one each fight, burglary, and argument.

The Department of Natural Resources, during this period, arrested Johnnie Clayton Walker of Covington, and charged him with BUI and operating a vessel with improper lights.
