Football Contest Begins Next Week

The Monticello News annual football contest kicks off with the beginning of high school and college football next week, and will run for 15 weeks.

That means players will have 15 chances to get their name on the honor roll for Peach Bowl tickets; 15 chances to win a prize from the 15 sponsors, and 15 weeks of fun with The Monticello News. It also means the friendly rivalry between The Monticello News football contest regulars is about to re-ignite.

But, you don’t have to be a regular to play or to win. The games are chosen to give everyone a fair shot—veteran or newcomer to the contest. It consists of high school, college and pro football games each week.

All you have to do is get a copy of the The Monticello News contest; fill out the official entry form or facsimile thereof, and turn it in to The News office in person, by fax or mail, by 5 p.m. each Friday.

Winners will be called on Monday to accept their prize and have their picture made with the weekly sponsor.
