B-team Cougars Win, 14-3

Piedmont Academy B-team baseball squad found plenty of offense in a 14-3 win against the Warner Robins Patriots last week. Coach Dan Funt’s team recorded the win in five innings as several players had big days at the plate. Taylor Fields, Cole Hamilton, Daniel Leinweber and Buddy Morrison each had two hits. Morrison connected for a double and a triple in the contest.

Josh Brennan, Matt Ses-sions and Jakey Dunagan also contributed offensively.

Hamilton earned the win and is now 2-0 this spring. Dunagan and Sessions also saw work on the pitcher’s mound.
“We are still leaving a ton of runners on base,” Funt said. “We finally started to connect some to the gaps in the later innings.”

The B-team will return to action April 13 against Pinecrest on the road in Cumming at 4:30 p.m
