B-Team Cougars Win

The Piedmont Academy B-team baseball squad upped its record to 3-1 with a 10-5 victory against Frederica last week.
Coach Dan Funt’s team got a strong pitching performance from Jakey Dunagan, who did not allow an earned run. Dunagan also recorded four strikeouts.

Matt Sessions worked three innings with three strike outs.
Offensively, Buddy Morrison was 1-for-3 with two runs scored while Sessions scored a run and had two stolen bases. Cole Hamilton was 1-for-3 with an RBI and run scored.

Daniel Leinweber was 1-for-3 with a run scored and RBI. Dunagan drew two walks and collected an RBI while Matt Wilson had a walk and RBI.

Dalton Perkins contributed to the win by going 1-for-2 with a run scored, RBI and stolen base. Taylor Fields was 1-for-2 with two runs scored.

Monday’s game against Pinecrest was rained out but will be made up, Funt said.
