B-team Cougars Beat Windsor
Piedmont Academy’s B-team baseball players let it be known they were ready for Windsor last week.
The end result was a 7-0 win against the Knights as Matt Sessions went all seven innings allowing just three hits while striking out five. Sessions gave up just two walks.
Cole Hamilton delivered a 2-for-3 performance at the plate with a home run and three RBI. Josh Brennan added an RBI single.
Seth Harvey, Dalton Perkins and Daniel Jackson also contributed offensively. Jackson finished 1-for-2 with a double, two RBI and an outfield assist as he threw a runner out at the plate.
The win improved the B-team to 4-4 overall this spring.
Coach Dan Funt said some additional games may be added to the schedule.
“We want to keep improving and getting the players ready for the varsity level,” the coach said.
