Magistrate Superior Court Actions Are Reported Here
Jasper Count Magistrate Court Criminal Ordinance Violation Arraignments were handled June 12 with Judge Angela M. Steele, presiding. Guilty pleas were accepted in the following cases with charges and fines as indicated:
•Deborah Poole to animal running at large—sentenced to 12 months probation, 20 hours community service and $210 fine.
•Sandra Michelle Hardy to disorderly conduct—sentenced to 12 months probation, 30 hours community service, anger management class and a $210 fine.
•Andrew Hill Self to animal running at large—sentenced to 12 months probation, 20 hours community service and a $210 fine.
•Armondo Cornelio to disorderly conduct—sentenced to 12 months probation, 20 hours community service and $210 fine.
•Herbert C. Walker to driveway/culvert violation—sentenced to 12 months probation and a $100 fine.
•John Michael Hutcheson to possession of marijuana less than one ounce—sentenced to 12 months probation, 40 hours community service, drug and alcohol assessment, risk reduction class and a fine of $695.
•Michael Crews to open burning—fined $50.
The following individuals entered a not guilty plea to charges as indicated and will be scheduled for trial on June 26:
•Ronald Charles Durance, Cynthia Bell, Regina Gotel and James Simpson to solid waste violation.
•Diane Wilson and Marcus Thomas to animal running at large.
•Patricia Diane Komisarow to theft of utilities.
•Shannon Britt to logging violation.
•Clay Mitchell to cruelty to animals.
The following three cases with charges as indicated were dismissed by the prosecutor:
•Paul Alan Holbrook charged with dangerous dog.
•Timothy Dean Horn charged with open burning.
•Lyndy Clay Clark to disorderly conduct.
Three other cases were continued, and a bench warrant was issued for Elizabeth Hall, charged with cruelty to animals, for failing to appear to answer the charge.
Also, on the Magistrate Court’s Probation Revocation Calendar Rhonda Deanne Gray had her probation revoked and was sentenced to three days in jail, and Jerry Lamar Minor had his probation revoked and was given credit for time served.
In addition, the following four cases of Parole Revocation were processed in Superior Court on June 9:
•Alray Leonard Goolsby was found to have violated his parole by failing to report as ordered, failure to pay fines and failure to complete community service when fine was converted—sentenced to time served (since May 30, 2009) and probation terminated.
•David Lee Sherill was found to have violated his parole by committing the new offense of simple assault—sentenced to time served (since January 22, 2009) and returned to regular probation with all rules and conditions in place.
•Keith Barry Webb was found to have violated his parole by committing the new offenses of cruelty to children, battery, interfering with a 911 call and terroristic threats and acts—sentenced to two years in the state penal system and upon completion return to regular probation supervision.
•Jerri Dale Williams was found to have violated his parole for unspecified reasons and was sentenced to serve the balance of his probation in the Jasper County Jail with an end date of August 27, 2009.
