Arrests Are Reported
Sometime before daylight Tuesday morning Shane’s One Stop Convenience Store in Farrar was broken into and burglarized. Shortly afterward, a deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) made a routine traffic stop of a vehicle driven by Ina Harris Duncan, of an Atlanta address, for failure to maintain lane. Ms. Duncan was subsequently charged with driving with license suspended or revoked.
Inside Ms. Duncan’s car the deputy discovered cigarettes, cigars, lottery tickets and other items. Also discovered were a pry bar and other tools.
Ms. Duncan was arrested and charged with burglary and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
According to a spokesman for the JCSO, other arrests are expected to be made in the burglary.
Other arrests reported by the JCSO for the period of June 16 through 23 are as follows:
Larisha Ranae Shaw, 20, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Sabin Bryce Proffitt, 27, Monticello—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Robert Cornelius Smith, 27, Monticello—probation violation.
Michelle Lee Miller, 31, Covington—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Dewayne Lashawn Carter, 24, Monticello—probation violation.

Sheila Michelle Kirkpatrick, 37, Porterdale—deposit account fraud.
Marlayna Chanise Cordell, 17, Monticello—furnishing to, purchase or possession of alcohol under 21 years of age.
Tiffany Star Orr, 29, Con-yers—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Timothy Wayne Norris, 36, Monticello—hold for warrant Clayton Co.
Tremain Antwione Jacobs, 32, Monticello—child support.
Also, during this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 147 calls for service including 23 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 12 alarm, 10 subject needs officer, nine accidents, four vandalism of property, three each 911 hang up and threatening/harassing calls, two each burglary, music/noise complaint and fraud/theft by deceiving, one each fight, dog disturbance, domestic, livestock on road, theft by taking, assault, missing person and abandoned vehicle.
During this same period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
Samuel Barron Ross, 18, Monticello—burglary.
Cody Lashawn Carter, 17, Monticello—burglary.
Noah Christopher Jackson, 17, Monticello—burglary.
In addition, during this period officers with the MPD responded to 85 calls for service including 38 escort or convoy, 12 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five alarm, four subject needs officer, two each foot patrol, accident and argument, one each burglary, domestic, hit and run, juvenile complaint, music/noise complaint, shoplifter, vandalism of property abandoned vehicle and 911 hang up.
Furthermore, during the last week, officers with the Georgia State Patrol arrested Jesus Hernandez, 27, of Monticello, and charged him with driving while license suspended or revoked and speeding.
