Arrests Made on Jackson Lake
It was a busy week on Jackson Lake. The Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR) reported four drug arrests, which included Samantha Nichole Waller, 19; Roger Thomas McGregor, 19; Joey Eugene Harris, 21, and Robert Keith Bowen, 18; all with a Jackson address, were charged with possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
The DNR also reported two boating under the influence of alcohol (BUI) arrests which included Bobby Glenn Debuc, 42, of Locust Grove, and James Eugene Beck, 36, of Jackson.
DNR Ranger Billy Bryant said, “We have seen BUI arrests drastically decline until lately. However, it has picked up as the activity increases on the lake. Activity seems to be about normal, but Jackson Lake is so close to so many people and places the activity on it stays pretty steady.”
Ranger Bryant indicated the DNR expects heavy activity this holiday weekend, and as usual, they will be monitoring it.
Also, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the arrests of two CVS employees Tuesday which involved prescription drugs. Laura Marie Shelton, 26, of Monticello was charged with theft by taking, sell of schedule I/II controlled substances and obtainment/attempt to obtain dangerous drugs by fraud. Laura Jean Ramey, 39, of Monticello was charged with obtainment/attempt to obtain dangerous drugs by fraud.
Other arrests reported by the MPD during the period of June 23-30 included the following:
Anthony Jackson, 48, Monticello—warrant in Baldwin County.
Jamie Leanne Blackmon, 29, Monticello — Jasper County Superior Court Bench Warrant, theft by receiving stolen property, obstruction or hindering a law enforcement officer.
Also, during this period, officers with the MPD responded to 95 calls for service including 26 escort or convoy, 21 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, eight subject needs officer, seven alarm, four intoxicated pedestrian, two each hit and run theft by taking, music/noise complaint, threatening/harassing calls and indecent exposure, one each burglary, domestic, suspicious person and/or vehicle, accident, crowd disbursement, foot patrol, argument, persons refusing to leave and fraud/theft by deceiving.
During this same period the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the following arrests:
Demarcus Dewayne Lynwood, 21, Eatonton—probation violation.
Ashley N. Flanigan, 25, Winder—deposit account fraud.
Thomas Russell Hobgood, 18, Loganville—probation violation.
Michael Clinton Cason, 49, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
Gerald Eugene Toole, 57, Hartwell—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, open container and speeding.
Clint Ledwayne Jackson, 45, Monticello—probation violation.
In addition, during this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 193 calls for service including 15 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 14 subject needs officer, 10 each alarm and vandalism of property, six domestic, five each accident, suspicious person and/or vehicle and escort or convoy, four assist motorist, three each livestock on road and theft by taking, two each fight, burglary, speeding auto, intoxicated pedestrian, assault, juvenile complaint, argument and threatening/harassing calls, one each dog disturbance, hit and run, fire alarm, discharge firearms, possible suicide, road hazard, music/noise complaint, trespassing, person refusing to leave, abandoned vehicle, violation of the GA controlled substance act, and lost property.
