Burglar Is Caught With Goods

Reginal Spike Jones of an Atlanta address was arrested last Friday by the Monticello Police Department (MPD) and charged with burglary and criminal damage to property.

According to a report from the MPD, Mr. Jones had disabled the electric breaker box at the Hideaway Package Store, then used a garbage can to get on top of the air conditioner where he stood and damaged the roof attempting to gain entry to the store. Without success at this method he returned to the ground and used a large rock to smash the glass door to gain entry.

Mr. Jones was later spotted on Spruce Street and was apprehended with several bottles of liquor in his possession. He was arrested and transported to the Jasper County Hospital for a cut on his wrist. After refusing treatment he was transferred to the Jasper County Jail where he was processed and jailed.

Also, for the period of July 7 through 14, the MPD reported the arrest of Dejarius Rashad Ross, 21, of Monticello, and charged him with fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer while license suspended or revoked.

During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 93 calls for service including 31 escort or convoy, 24 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five subject needs officer, four each trouble unknown, accident and alarm, three theft by taking, two each burglary, music/noise complaint and argument, one each fight, domestic, suspicious person and/or vehicle, foot patrol, missing person, juvenile complaint and identity fraud/theft.

Also, during this period the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department (JCSO) reported the following arrests:
Matthew Conan Barber, 25, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
Samantha Ann Barber, 20, Monticello—disorderly conduct.
LaTonya Hallman, 38, Macon—hold for a warrant in Bibb Co.
Jeffrey Andrew Solomon, 29, Shady Dale—aggravated assault, pointing or aiming a gun or pistol and terroristic threats and acts.

Anthony Oneal Card, 24, Monticello—aggravated assault.
Jonathon Dexter Johnson, 38, Covington—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, no tag light, no valid insurance, driving on a suspended registration, open container, driving while license suspended or revoked and failure to maintain lane.

Justin Paul Taylor, 24, Mansfield—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, windshield violation, no seat belt and driving while license suspended or revoked.
David Christopher Hardwick, 43, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

Michael Steven Pittman, 58, Monticello—aggravated assault.

Michael Edward Ford, 27, Monticello—probation violation.

Authur Gerald Walberg, 44, Monticello—disorderly conduct.

Raymond Levern Carter, 34, Monticello—hold for warrant in Putnam Co.

In addition, during this period deputies with the JCSO responded to 146 calls for service including 35 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 20 subject needs officer, eight alarm, seven suspicious person and/or vehicle, five each accident and livestock on road, four burglary, three each domestic, vandalism of property and vandalism of property, two each dog disturbance, speeding auto, and theft by taking, one each child abuse/molestation, juvenile complaint, trouble unknown, threatening/harassing calls, trespassing, persons refuse to leave, and 911 hang up.

Also, during this period the Georgia State Patrol reported the arrest of Erica Shikrem Lindsey, 29, of Covington, and charged her with registration violation and driving while license suspended or revoked.
