Deborah Elizabeth McMichael Howard

Deborah Elizabeth McMichael Howard, 56, of Jackson, died Sunday, September 20, 2009, at Newton Medical Center in Covington.

Ms. Howard was born in the family home in Jasper County. Her parents were the late Henry Hulon McMichael and Lula Mae Patrick McMichael. She attended Smithboro Baptist Church. Before retirement, she was a proofreader for 19 years at the John Harlan Checking Company.

Prior to working there, Ms. Howard worked for Jasper Memorial Hospital and as an Emergency Medical Technician in Jasper County for four years and for the Dairy Queen for several years. Most of all, she is remembered as the best wife, mom and beloved sister.

Survivors include her husband, Randall Lloyd Howard of Jackson; children and spouses, Chris and Beth Mason of Covington, Steven and Robin Howard of Chatsworth, and Andrea and Guy Barnett of Waverly, Tenn.; grandchildren, Dean Mason, Cody Mason, Vincent Howard, Lane Howard, Jasmine Sulton, Timothy Barnett, and Elizabeth Barnett; brothers and sisters, J.W. McMichael, Hulon McMichael, and Betty Ellison, all of Monticello, Marvin McMichael of Eatonton, Bobby McMichael of Milledgeville, Dan McMichael of Rutledge, and Ann Andrews of Lynn Haven, Fla., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were scheduled Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at Smithboro Baptist Church. Rev. Dale Parker were to officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Monday, September 21, 2009, at Jordan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were her son, Chris Mason, and nephews, Raymond Ellison, Kim McMichael, Adam McMichael, Tony McMichael, Robert McMichael, Gordon Andrews, Wayne Andrews, and James McMichael.

Jordan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
