Man Sentenced on Two Burglary Charges

Robert Ross pled guilty to two counts of burglary Tuesday in Jasper Superior Court with Judge Hulane E. George, presiding.

Mr. Ross was sentenced to 10 years on each count to be served concurrent and with 60/120 days to be served in a state detention center after which the remainder is to be served on probation. He was also sentenced to court fines and fees of $762 and restitution of $1,500 to a victim on Bear Creek Marina Road and $2,800 to another on Hodges Farm Road, both with Mansfield addresses.

Three other cases were processed with results as follows:

•Jason B. Klinger pled guilty to theft by taking and was sentenced to three years to be served on probation, court fines and fees of $712 and restitution of $580.

•Wendy Marie Jones, who was convicted of possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana in March, 2006, had her probation revoked for the new charges of simple battery and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees. Ms. Jones was sentenced to serve 60/90 days in a state detention center, to be suspended upon payment of $500 with credit for time served and to be released on August 31, 2010 and returned to regular probation.

•Christopher Brittan Capell, who was convicted of theft by taking in November, 2008, had his probation revoked for the new charges of forgery in the first degree, theft by taking and larceny/theft. Mr. Capell was sentenced to 120 days in the Jasper County Jail to be suspended upon entry into a state detention center to serve 60/90 days and upon completion be returned to regular probation, and restitution to two victims of $175 and $65.

Also, in Jasper County Magistrate Criminal Trial Court on August 27, with Judge Kenneth G. Jackson, presiding, the cases listed below were processed as follows:

•Gary Sparks and Andrea Marie King were both found not guilty of furnish, purchase, possess alcohol under legal age.

•Gail Davis was found not guilty of disorderly conduct after the victim testified she was not the perpetrator.

•Lori Davis was found not guilty of disorderly conduct and disorderly house.

•Greg Van Huss had his probation revocation case on the charges of junk ordinance and solid waste continued.
