Probation Revoked in Criminal Court
Several persons had their probation revoked during a Motion Day Tuesday in Jasper Superior Court.
Judge James L. Cline, Jr., presided, and the court found sufficient evidence to revoke the probation of the following individuals:
•Amanda Lazorchak’s probation was revoked for the new offenses of possession of marijuana less than one ounce, possession of meth and tampering with evidence. Ms. Lazorchak was sentenced to jail time with credit for time served since June 24 and with a release date of October 5, at which time she is ordered to return to regular probation as previously ordered.
•Oliver Jackson’s probation was revoked for the new offense of forgery. Mr. Jackson was sentenced to serve 25 days in the Jasper County Jail (JCJ) with credit for time served since September 21 and with a release date of October 16, at which time he will return to regular probation as previously ordered.
•Kerry Britt Treadwell’s probation was revoked for the new offenses of harassing phone calls and failing to pay court ordered fines and fees. Mr. Treadwell was sentenced to jail time suspended upon entry into the Bainbridged Residential Substance Treatment Center and upon successful completion of the program be returned to regular probation.
•Steven L. Bayne’s probation was revoked for the new offenses of driving under the influence, reckless driving and driving with no headlights. Mr. Bayne was sentenced to serve 30 days in the JCJ with credit for time served since September 22 and with a release date of October 22, at which time he is ordered to return to regular probation.
•Mathew Robinson’s probation was revoked for the new offenses of obstruction and cruelty to children. Mr. Robinson was sentenced serve 90/120 days in a state detention center and upon completion return to regular probation.
Also, the two following guilty pleas were accepted with charges and sentencing as indicated below:
•David G. Byron plead guilty to habitual violator and was sentenced to five years to be served on probation and fines and fees of $1,032.
•Nicholas Standifer pled guilty to forgery in the first degree and was sentenced to three years to be served on probation, fines and fees of $759 and restitution charges.
Judge Cline also presided over the Criminal Arraignment Calendar where 13 individuals entered “not guilty” pleas to various charges and will be scheduled for trial at a later date.
Robby Dale Griffin, Nicole S. McDonald and Desmond R. Willingham failed to appear to answer charges and bench warrants were issued for their arrest.
In addition, a Criminal Motion Day convened September 28 with Judge J. Lee Parrott, presiding, in which the following three cases were processed as presented below:
•Clayton E. Besley pled guilty to obstruction and terroristic threats and acts and was sentenced to five years with 90/180 days to serve with the remainder to be served on probation, and fines and fees of $1,332.
•Kelvin Head’s probation was revoked for the new offenses of public drunk, loitering and disorderly conduct. Mr. Head was sentenced to serve 26 days in the JCJ with credit for time served since September 3, and to be returned to regular probation upon release.
•Roderick Dumas’ probation was revoked for the new offenses of theft by shoplifting, battery, cruelty to children, failure to pay court ordered fines and fees and failure to report. Mr. Dumas was sentenced to 120 days in the JCJ suspended upon entry into a state detention center where he shall serve 90/120 days and upon release be returned to regular probation.
Furthermore, Jasper County Magistrate Court convened on October 1 with Judge Kenneth G. Jackson. presiding, and the following cases were processed as indicated below:
•Five individuals pled not guilty to ordinance violation charges and will be scheduled for a bench trial at a later date.
•Jeffrey Curvin failed to appear to answer the charge of theft of utilities and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest.
•Linda Lou Holland had her probation revoked for non-payment of court ordered fines and fees and not reporting. Ms. Holland was sentenced to 45 days jail time to be suspended upon fines and fees being brought current.
•Ricky N. Bridges had his probation revoked and was sentenced to be jailed until outstanding fines and restitution were paid.
