Tiebreaker Counts As 4 Get 13 Right

Piedmont Academy junior Davis Kimball broke a four-way tie to win last week’s football contest by guessing 35 points would be scored in the tiebreaker game, Monticello vs. Northeast, which the ‘Canes lost 21-20, for a total of 41 points.

The other three players with 13 right guessed much higher tiebreakers.

Five more players correctly guessed the winners in 12 of the games listed, also having their names added to the honor roll.
Mr. Kimball collected a $25 prize from Kelly DeGarmo at Eden Massage. Her son, Brody presented the check to Mr. Kimball.

Mr. Kimball said he does not play every week, and he did not have faith in the Georgia Bulldogs. He missed on two pro games, correctly picking the winners in all the high school and college games right.

Others who got 13 right include Ellie Bowden, Amanda Colvin, and Jan Lewis. Those getting 12 right and having their names added to the honor roll included Ahmad Campbell, Jason Greenway, Christy Hyson, Brenda Miller, and Freddie Moore.

There were some entries submitted late last week so they were not judged. All entrants need to remember that the deadline is 5 p.m. each Friday. News staffers generally stay until shortly after 5 p.m., but we only guarantee accepting entries until 5 p.m. sharp.
Also, one entry submitted last week had no name, no address, no phone number. You cannot win if we do not know who you are!
This week’s sponsor is Monticello Drugs. The person with the most correct picks, subject to the tiebreaker, will pick up a $25 prize from Monticello Drugs on the Square.
