Two Charged For Drugs in Traffic Stop
A deputy with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) spotted Keidarious Rontrez Foster and Xazavin Deronte Jackson driving on the street directly behind the Courthouse last Thursday, and recognized Mr. Foster as having an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
In a subsequent stop of the vehicle the smell of marijuana was detected leading to a search of the vehicle which revealed a significant amount of marijuana and a Glock hand gun.
Nine bags of marijuana ware found on Mr. Foster and he was charged with possession/manufacture/distribution/sale of marijuana, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving without a license and operating a vehicle without registration.
Three bags of marijuana were found on Mr. Jackson and he was charged with manufacture/distribution/sale of marijuana.
Mr. Foster remains in the Jasper County Jail under a $52,000 bond. Mr. Jackson has been bailed out on a $10,000 property bond.

Rachel Michelle Martin, 34, Mansfield—hold for warrant in Putnam Co.
Al Deshon Tripp, 29, Jacksonville—possession of marijuana less than one ounce and speeding.
Dwayne Keith Pruett, 50, Mansfield—battery and simple battery.
Rose Marie Pullens, 30, Monticello—parole violation.
William Matthew Smith, 20, Oxford—probation violation.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 147 calls for service including 28 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 26 subject needs officer, 12 accident, 10 alarm, nine theft by taking, seven each juvenile complaint and escort or convoy, six mechanical break down, four each pick up prisoner and assist motorist, three burglary and trouble unknown, two each fight, domestic, speeding auto, music/noise complaint, threatening/harassing calls and vandalism of property, one each fire/structure, fire/vehicle, mental person, be on look out, missing person, extra patrol, discharge firearms, property found, road hazard, trespassing, argument, abandoned vehicle, lost property and attempt to serve warrant.
Also, during this period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
Kenneth Dewayne Stone, Jr., 18, Monticello—entering an auto and criminal damage to property in the second degree.
Taylor Dean Chafin, 21, Jackson—criminal trespass.
During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 68 calls for service including 13 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, five subject needs officer, four theft by taking, three each alarm and burglary, two each accident, direct traffic, missing person, trouble unknown, threatening/harassing calls and persons refuse to leave, one each fight, prowler, dosmestic, mechanical bread down, pick up prisoner, fall, assault, entering auto, possible suicide, music/noise complaint, vandalism of property, road hazard, argument and fraud/theft by deceiving.
