Willie Robert Dennis

Funeral services for Willie Robert Dennis, who died October 22, were held October 27 at New Enon Baptist Church in Madison. Rev. Benny Dearro officiated. Burial was in Midway Independent Church cemetery in Shady Dale.

Mr. Dennis was born in the town of Kelly in northern Jasper County on December 28, 1946 to the late Mary Elane Dennis and James Moore.
Mr. Dennis was the first born of seven siblings. He received his education from Jasper County Training School in Monticello, and was a member of Midway Independent Church.

Mr. Dennis worked in many capacities, at Franklin Veneer in Farrar, the Bibb Company and Williams Brothers in Covington, and others. He was a proud member of the “Might Silvers Clouds” where he enjoyed singing praises unto the Lord.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Reeves and two brothers, Oscar Dennis and Pete Moore.

Survivors include his wife, Fannie Dennis of Monticello; children, Randy Williams of Monticello, Pamela Lee and Sandy Williams, both of Covington; siblings, Emma Banks and Janice Hyman of Shady Dale, Melvin Dennis of Monticello and Harold Dennis of Eatonton, 14 grandchildren and a number of other relatives, and special to his heart, Lawanda Bennett of Shady Dale, ReYanna Williams, and Evan Lee of Covington, and Randy Marcell “Black” Williams, Jr., of Monticello.

Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
