Contest Players Tie; Cougar Draws and Wins

ALLISON LITZ, RHETT ROBERTS

Last week’s football contest proved to be a challenge again with major upsets at the college and pro levels. Therefore, only five people had as many as 12 correct picks, and two of them had the exact same tiebreaker.

Turkey Holland and Rhett Roberts each correctly guessed the winner of 12 games listed, and both guessed 56 points would be scored in Lamar’s 55-20 tromping of the ‘Canes.

Getting in touch with the contest winners was a chore Monday. Eventually Mr. Roberts showed up to select the winning stick. (We used popsicle sticks—one plain and one colored blue) He chose the winning one. So, Mr. Holland received the consolation prize of $15 from The Monticello News.

Mr. Roberts collected a $25 prize from Allison Litz at Dairy Queen, sponsor of the week.

There’s a new contest this week, and the winner will receive a prize worth $25 from Primary Care Center.

Piedmont is playing its first play-off game, and that will be the tie-breaker game. Just guess ho many total points will be scored.
So get your entries in by 5 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 12, and maybe you can win.
