Rough Mornings

Jasper County Emergency workers responded to a motor vehicle accident on Hwy. 83 south just outside Monticello last Friday.

A tractor trailer had jack-knifed, and a passenger vehicle wrecked while trying to avoid hitting the truck. The driver of the convertible (left photo) was reported to be entrapped.

On Monday, emergency workers again responded to an accident around 7 a.m. In Monday’s accident, the driver of a white van lost control and ran off the road, coming to rest upside down on the shoulder of Hwy. 11 north. She was also reported to be entrapped.

In addition to the female driver, there were two juveniles in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Everyone involved in both accidents was transported to a hospital. No further details were available at press time.
