Jasper, State Elect Two In Runoff

Jasper Countians, the few who voted, joined those over the state in electing David Nahamis to full term on the Georgia Supreme Court, and in naming Chris McFaddin to fill a vacancy on the state Court of Appeals.

A little more than four percent of Jasper’s registered voters, a total of 321, voted in the election.

They chose David Nahmias over Tammy Lynn Adkins. Mr. Nahmias received 70.75 percent or 225 votes to Ms. Adkins’ 29.25 percent or 93 votes.

Statewide Justice Nahamis garnered just over 176,000 votes, or 67 percent, to nearly 87,000 for Ms. Adkins.

In Jasper County, Mr. McFadden received 211 votes for 67 percent, and Ms. Davis received 68 votes or 32.8 percent.

For the Appeals Court seat the totals were 157,500, 62 percent, for Mr. McFadden and 96,600, 38 percent for Antoinette “Toni” Davis.
