Alice Louise Goolsby
Alice Louise Goolsby, 39, of Monticello died November 24, 2010.
Ms. Goolsby was born October 17, 1971 to Norris I. Goolsby and the late Dolly J. Goolsby.
Ms. Goolsby was educated in the Jasper County School system, and she received her Bachelor of Science Degree at Savannah State College in Savannah.
She was employed as a program assistant at the Newton County Department of Family and Children Services in Covington. She also worked part time at Hair Essentials in Covington on the weekends for over 14 years.
Ms. Goolsby attended St. James A.M.E. Church in Monticello where she served on the Steward Board, DMC Usher Board, The Voices of Inspiration Choir and the Joyful Praise Chorale. She also served for many years on the Stewardship and Finance committees.
Ms. Goolsby was preceded in death by her mother.
In addition to her father, survivors include a son, Jared Isaiah Goolsby of Monticello; brothers, Douglas Goolsby, Reginald J. Goolsby; grandmother, Jannie Mae B. Ridley Battle; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held December 4 at St. James A.M.E. Church in Monticello, with Pastor Donna Marie Calix, officiating.
Smith and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
