Addie Driskelll Brown

Addie Driskelll Brown of Monticello died December 16, 2010.
Ms. Brown was born to the late Andrew Jackson and the late Anna Lee Barron, November 17, 1933.

She joined Mount Carmel Baptist in Monticello and was also a member of the Bright and Morning Star Lodge. Ms. Brown was ordained as a minister July 14, 2001, by Rev. Willie R. Flint at Macedonia Baptist Church in Athens.

She joined Exalted Words Free Church of God in Christ in Milledgeville in 2007, where she was under the watch care of Rev. Bruce Davis and minister Gwendolyn Davis. She served as a minister at Exalted Words and was the first Mother Board member.
In her spare time she loved planting flowers and letting others know what their life was worth.

Ms. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Driskell; three brothers, Andrew Jackson, II, Willie Jackson, Davie Driskell, II; and one sister, Carrie Gordon.

Survivors include a son, Eddie Driskell of Madison; three daughters, Alice Hardwick, and Annette Driskell-Thomas, both of Milledgeville, and Bernice M. Driskell of Athens; a brother, Minister Frank Jackson of Madison; stepson Athony Williams; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a hose of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A service is scheduled for today, December 23 at 1 p.m. at Springfield Baptist Church in Monticello. Rev. Jimmy Horton, pastor, and Rev. Bruce Davis, eulogist.

Smith and Sons Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
