Crash!

Jasper County deputy Greg Sands en route to an emergency call in his 2008 tan Ford Crown Victoria collided with a 1999 black Ford Ranger driven by Jerry Deleza of Monticello last Wednesday.

A Georgia State Patrol (GSP) trooper was called to investigate the accident, since a county vehicle was involved.

The GSP report was not ready at press time, so it is not clear who was determined to be at fault in the accident that occurred at or near the intersection of West Washington Street and Honeysuckle Drive.

No one was seriously injured. Sheriff Charles Roper confirmed that the deputy was using emergency lights and siren.
