Mildred “Millie” Eppinger Sanvidge

Mildred “Millie” Eppinger Sanvidge, 90, of Jackson, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.

Mrs. Sanvidge was born in Pike County on April 28, 1920, the daughter of the late Clarence Clairmont “Bud” Eppinger and Minnie Griffin Eppinger. She was the wife of the late Clifford Lewis “Sandy” Sanvidge who died in 1996.

Mrs. Sanvidge was employed as secretary to the pastor of First Baptist Church in Jackson for 17 years where she was also a member. She was involved in many activities of the church including Sunday school teacher for 17 years, and the WMU. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Sanvidge enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening, and sewing.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Vic and Susan Sanvidge, Ken and Kathy Sanvidge, Linda and Jeff Watts; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nita Harris, Mae Hardy and Jenny Cagle-Moore, and a number of other relatives.
Mrs. Sanvidge was preceded in death by her son, Bert; granddaughter, Johnna, and great-grandddaughter, Katianna.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sanvidge were held February 7 at the First Baptist Church in Jackson. Dr. Joe Bufford, Rev. Billy Lawrence and Rev. Rindy Trouteand officated. Interment was in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery at Molena.
