Gladys C. Batchelor

Gladys C. Batchelor, 84, of Columbus, died January 27 in Columbus.
She was born in Jasper County to the late Cleve Mercer and Maude Mercer Tillman.

Before retirement she lived in Macon and worked at Robins Air Force base. She was educated in Jasper County and was a star basketball player. She loved sports, working in the yard and visiting with family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Lucille Waits and Doris Gokey.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Moss; a granddaughter, Shanna Moss of Columbus; sisters, Sara Prosser of Covington, Betty Johneon of Coatesville, Ind., and Ammie Tyler of Monticello; brothers and sisters-in-law, Weyman and Ann Mercer and Walter and Alice Tillman, all of Monticello.
