PA Golfers Prepare for Season
The Piedmont golf team will return to the links March 2 with a road match against Monsignor Donovan in Athens.
Coach Ryan Berg said Monday the players are currently practicing for the start of the new season.
“We have 10 golfers competing for our top five spots,” Berg said. “We will have competition throughout the spring to determine our top five. Everyone will be on the team, but the top five scores count.”
Home matches will once again be played at Hunter Pope Country Club in Monticello. Berg said he expects the “usual suspects” to be strong in region play again in 2011 including schools such as Brentwood, Gatewood and Monsignor Donovan.
“Every team is capable of having an impact,” the coachsaid. The first home match is scheduled for March 10 against rival Gatewood.
